The Brass Monkee RDA

The Brass Monkee RDA is a dripper sold through and created by Standard Functions out of California. It is a dual coil dripper with no ability to turn into a single coil dripper, so if you prefer single coil, this may not be for you. If on the other hand, you’re looking for a quality, affordable duel coil dripper, you’ve come to the right place!

Brass Monkee RDA-1How the Brass Monkee RDA Works

The Brass Monkee is a duel core dripper with a number of little design quirks that make it stand out. First of all, it has up to six air holes, three on each side, giving you the ability to really dial down on your vaping experiences. The more holes that are open, the more flavor you get, so you can really get a strong kick! The device also has a small chamber, which is why you can run it only in duel coil; on the other hand, that means big flavor. It’s a fairly simple device to use; you simply adjust the air holes to what you want, attach the top part which locks those air holes, then screw it to your coil set-up and you’re done!

Benefits of the Brass Monkee RDA

Brass Monkee RDA-2The Brass Monkee RDA has a number of advantages to it. It’s a 22mm device with fully adjustable air holes-up to six with three on each side! The chamber is small too, so the combination of that and plenty of air holes means you can enjoy great flavor. The device is generally speaking very nice and high quality, made from polished stainless steel with very little leakage chance. Other devices screwed to it are pretty compatible; drip tips are as are things like the mechanical mods, so you can really experiment and figure out what you like. And finally, the whole device is very affordable, about $80.00. Pretty good deal!

Problems with the Brass Monkee RDA

The stainless steel system works wonderfully well and makes the device worthwhile in itself. However, the system also comes with a brass top cap (hence the name). Unfortunately, it’s, well, brass and brass has lead in it! Although there is a stainless steel ‘sleeve’ on the inside of it, there is brass where the device comes into contact with your juice. As the juice is heated and the device is used, the brass will corrode over time and you could get lead poisoning. It’s not worth the risk, so just toss it.

Other much more minor concerns are the fact that it only vapes in duel coil mode-no single coil for those who prefer that. The connection the 510 base is also not adjustable which nowadays isn’t a big problem, but it’s still something to keep in mind.

If you’re looking for a great duel coil dripper then, despite the brass cap, the Brass Monkee RDA is a good buy. Indeed, at $80.00, it’s something of a steal! Simply throw out the brass cap top and then vape away using this device which really lets customize your options with ease. Enjoy!

A lot of the high end RBAS use Naval brass which is lead free. I think there are also other higher end brass alloys that are lead free as well.
